Statistics: Russia’s inflation at 0.1% in January 17–Monday
MOSCOW, Jan 25 (PRIME) -- Russia’s inflation amounted to 0.1% from January 17 through Monday and to 0.5% since January 1, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a report on Wednesday.
In 2016, inflation stood at 1% in January.
In the reported week, cheese prices rose 0.5%, for butter went up 0.4%, and for beef, sausages, milk, curd and sour cream increased 0.2–0.3%.
But egg prices fell 0.8%, sugar prices decreased 0.7%, prices for buckwheat went down 0.3%, and prices for poultry, frozen fish and millet fell 0.2%.
Fruit and vegetable prices remained flat on average. Prices for onions went up 1.5%, for carrots rose by 0.9%, for potatoes by 0.7%, for apples by 0.4%, and for cabbage by 0.3%; while prices for cucumbers and tomatoes fell 4.5% and 0.4%, respectively.
Gasoline prices increased 0.3% and diesel fuel prices grew 0.5%.
